Recharge cost

Estimate your recharge cost.

Use your own electricity rate. The result is the variable energy charge for one recharge.

Your charging session

Nominal stored energy.
Level before charging.
Must be at least the starting level.
Stored energy as a share of wall energy.
Example only. Enter the applicable variable rate.

Excludes battery purchase cost, standing charges, demand charges and taxes not included in your entered rate.

See the calculation

Stored energy = capacity × (target% − start%) / 100. Wall kWh = stored Wh / charging efficiency / 1,000. Cost = wall kWh × rate.

Efficiency is a fraction in the formula. Standby use after charging and changing tariffs are not modeled.

Charging cost is not financial payback.

This estimates the electricity used in one charging session. It does not determine whether a battery saves money or repays its purchase price.
